BRINGING VARIETY TO THE KITCHEN: THE KISAG WHIPPER
Who invented it? For the Kisag whipper, this question can be answered quite clearly with Walter Kissling. With his invention, the founder of Kisag AG succeeded in creating a kitchen innovation which has been a sensation far beyond Switzerland.
Other inventors had harnessed the principle of the soda jet with the use of gas cartridges containing nitrous oxide and a cylinder to prepare all kinds of food. Working in his foundry in Bellach at the end of the 1950s, however, it was Walter Kissling who was the first to develop a whipper which could be controlled precisely thanks to a sophisticated outlet valve. This allowed for the flow of whipped cream from the mouthpiece to be controlled and dosed perfectly using a lever. Kisag AG patented the charger system that it developed itself, and which has a clever safety valve, in 1958.
These days, the Kisag whipper is primarily appreciated for its versatility. And it is an indispensable kitchen helper for all gourmets who enjoy experimenting with culinary creations or like to surprise their guests and family members with original dishes. The pressure in the appliance intensifies and emphasizes the flavours of the ingredients. It is hardly surprising that more and more star chefs are taking advantage of this unique benefit for their creations.
