    A caquelon is much more than just a pot – it is the centrepiece of a successful fondue evening. The traditional fondue pot is usually made of ceramic, cast iron or enamelled steel and is specially designed to heat cheese, broth or chocolate evenly without anything burning. With its characteristic shape, a caquelon ensures that the heat is optimally distributed, enabling a relaxed meal in good company.


    The advantages of individual materials
    When choosing the right caquelon, the material plays a crucial role. A ceramic caquelon scores points for its excellent heat storage, which is particularly ideal for cheese fondue. Cast-iron caquelons, on the other hand, are versatile and are also suitable for broth fondue, for example for fondue chinoise or chocolate fondue. It is also extremely robust and durable. Enamelled models combine style with functionality and are often easier to clean. Each material has its strengths, and the choice depends on which fondue you prefer.
    How to find the perfect caquelon
    The ideal caquelon should not only be visually appealing, but also functional.
